Flame of Hope

The Flame of Hope is a monument that was formerly dedicated on Friday May 22, 1972. It was originally intended to remain lit only temporarily until all the POW/MIA's were returned home. 28 years later the Flame of Hope still burns awaiting the return of all our POW/MIA's. They shall not be forgotten.

To get there follow Virginia Beach 264 East. Get off First Colonial Exit. Take a right on First Colonial (US 408 South). Left on Virginia Beach BLVD (US 58 East). Then right on Oceana BLVD (US 615 South). The Flame of Hope monument is just less than 1 mile on your right on Oceana BLVD. You will need to fill in the blanks below and do some simple calculations from your answers to find the correct bearing to the letterbox. Information can be found at the memorial.

TERRAIN: Easy: Small memorial park
CLUE DIFFICULTY: Moderate, some calculations, all bearings are magnetic.
ESTABLISHED: November 23, 2000
